WAVR LLC was created by Technical Advisor Dr. Victor Cheboxarov and Founder Clyde Igarashi. The duo aimed to build large-scale wave energy conversion technology that could take the place of traditional energy production sources.

In 2016, Dr. Cheboxarov and Igarashi obtained a patent for their new technological breakthrough. Since gaining their patent, Dr. Cheboxarov has continued developing the device, making improvements to the original invention.

The wave energy technology, which converts resonant energy, produced by Dr. Cheboxarov and Igarashi, quickly turned heads in the science world. It won a prize in an international competition. Unfortunately, funding continues to be an issue for the large-scale energy project.

Igarashi and former Hawaii governor John Waihee met a few years after the wave energy technology patent was obtained. The pair discussed numerous topics, including energy independence and distributed energy. Waihee had experienced a variety of large-scale projects and proposals during his career. He was aware of the resources and development needed for the projects to succeed.

The conversation between Igarashi and Waihee was the impetus for the innovation of a smaller modular device capable of expanding to grow with increased energy requirements. Thus, the concept of WAVR was born - a device with the goal of rapidly developing a practical, relatively inexpensive wave energy converter.
